Key West 2008

Akleema and I went to Key West and Miami December 3rd – 10th. We had a great time overall and dreaded coming back to Minneapolis to snow and cold. We ate and drank way too much during our time there. It was one of those trips that it didn’t matter how much an item cost or how much fat there was in it. Simply put, if it looked good, we ate it.

Unfortunately, when you do that day in and day out, all the restaurants run together. So this post is more or less a general outline of our week in Key West and Miami. If a dish really stuck out we’ll make additional comments.

Overall we didn’t really have a bad meal. Some were better than others of course, but generally, we had a great experience everywhere we went. We have also realized that if your are a middle aged white person, Key West is for you. All they do is sit around, drink beer and listen to Jimmy Buffet or other 70’s and 80’s music. Pretty Relaxing.

So here you go!!!!

Lobster Paella in Miami. This dish was absolutely perfect, however it was the most expensive item of our trip. Coming in at around $60.00.

This was the best dessert we had in a long time. It was a unique take on bananas foster. Homemade ice cream and a warm cameral sauce. Holy Crap it was good!!!!

Lobster in Cream Sauce over Angel hair pasta. Akleema and I thought that this dish was the best of our trip. It was rich and decadent. We found this restaurant by mistake. Blue Heaven.
