Brasa Restaurant Minneapolis

Brasa Premium Rotisserie
600 E Hennepin Ave
Minneapolis, MN 55414

On Friday night we headed to one of our growing favorite places…Brasa. Akleema and I eat there last summer and really liked it. The venue itself is very small. Expect to wait for 1 or 1.5 hours if their busy. Longer if you have a larger party like we did that night. For some reason the host was not firing on all cylinders that night. He gave away tables that should have gone to us. Thank god they have cold beer and wine for you while you wait. Once we were seated (was on the phone with ay restaurant) the host did bring us a plate of free corn bread to as an olive branch. Ok, now that that’s out of the way. Back to the restaurant.

What’s the food like? I guess to sum it up it would qualify as Latin Soul Food. They keep it very simple. Choice of 3 meats; Beef, Pork and Chicken. With that you pick side dishes; beans rice, greens, etc, etc.

Service was fast and friendly. The food came out in record time for being as busy as they were. I think I can speak for everyone at the table that everyone enjoyed themselves

Eric....hmmmm beer good.....

Jason is trying to sweet talk our server, she wasn’t having it.

Corn Bread with Honey Butter (Free)
Due to the fact that our host was an idiot, he gave us un order of corn bread on the house. Good thing he did to, we were about to go crazy on his ass. The bread was warm and very tasty. The butter was sweet and creamy. Two of the best things in the world.

Spicy Braised Beef ($10.50)
This dish is slow braised and tender. The sauce is not as spicy as they say, it's more sweet than anything. A real winner.

12 Hour Roasted Pork ($9.00)

For me you can't go wrong with Pork. This was no exception.

Creole Style Chicken ($9.00)

A well seasoned chicken. Not over done at all.

12 Hour Roasted Pork Sandwhich w/ginger mayo ($7.50)

Masa Corn & Cheese Cakes ($2.00 each)

If you like corn and cheese, you'd love these. Just a little warm cheesy teaser before the main course.

Fried Sweet Plantains ($7.50)

Simply Amazing!!!! Enough said.

Black Beans and Rice ($7.00)

Slow Cooked Collard Greens with Turkey ($9.00)

Home run. Salty and sweet at the same time.

Roasted Yams with Andouille Sausage ($9.50)

Thanksgiving all year round.

After dinner drinks at Figlio's in Uptown. This is a rum punch or something....

The Orange Crush ($10.00)

I love this Martini. If you remember drinking Orange Crush as a kid, you'll love this drink!!!
